More Americans went on disability than found jobs over the last three months, according to fresh figures crunched by the Senate Budget Committee.
Underscoring the extent of the recent slowdown in the economy, the startling numbers show that between April and June, a total of 246,000 people enrolled in the Social Security Disability Insurance program. In the same period, just 225,000 found jobs.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., ranking Republican on the budget panel, said the figures raise concern about the health of the economy as well as the disability insurance program itself. He said that since 2008, a total of 3.6 million Americans have gone on disability — while 1.3 million lost jobs.

I have taken a vow to vote against any and all incumbents regardless of party. I truly believe our only hope is to break the stalemate that is perpetuated by both parties. And it isn’t by giving power to one party this election and the other party the next. That doesn’t work. We must start anew. The only other glimmer of hope would be a legitimate third party…. As that will not happen then my solution, preached to all, is a third party called the “Anti-incumbent Party.”‘ We need to be owners of our govt. officials not the owned and manipulated. And if the last 20-30 years of steady decline has not convinced anyone that these scum bags of both political parties could care less about America then the nation is headed further down…. And the golden rule of the Anti-incumbent party is that no elected party member will ever serve more than a total of 12 consecutive years in any branch of our wonderful government. A government for the people and by the people.
