  1. The year was around 1900.
    .
The little town was Molson, ..Washington State.
    .
An indian, “girl” child was born.
    .
    .
    She,

    grew up, ..married.
    .
    .
    She, ( and husband )

settled down .. in a little long cabin..,

along the rail road tracks. ( Now “9 mile” road. )
    .
    .
    She,

    had a baby.
    .
    .
    Her husband..,

    a violent drunk.
    .
    .
    One night..,

    drunken husband..,

grabbed the new baby by the feet..,

    and,

smashed the baby (dead) against the cabin door.
    .
    .
    She,

    walked into Molson..,

telling all .. .. “my husband killed my baby. ”
    .
    .
    Butt,

    she was an indian woman..,

    and,

    nobody gave a dam.. .. ,

    so oo,

she walked back to the cabin.
    .
    .
    2 weeks later..,

she walked back into Molson.. .. ..,

saying to all .. “He killed my baby..,

but I got him. ” ( Dead by poison. )
    .
    .
    He was an Indian..,

    nobody gave a dam.
    .
    .
    She,

moved to Oroville .., ( Washington State ).

where she spent the rest of her life.
    .
    .
    .
    Yota,

    As a boy..,

    Yota, would see her..,

walking from the Alaska Hotel to the Pastime Tavern.
    .
    .
    She,

    by then..,

an elderly, shrunken little raison ( Dressed in the clothes of a 1920’s “flapper.”)
    .
    .
    .
    One day,

The little old indian woman died..,

    and,

she walked the streets no more.
    .
    .
    She,

now long forgotten. ( But for the old timers. )
    .
    Butt,

her story deserves to be remembered.
    .
    .
    And,

that little old indian lady.., ( Who walked the streets of Oroville. ) ( Some 50 years ago . )

    she, had a name..,

    and,

    her name was Madeline.
