We are getting inundated with emails from our peeps asking about the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) and what they are going to say about Trumpcare. Frankly, we are not thrilled with this new piece of legislation as a mandate is a mandate is a mandate…regardless of who is doing the mandating. Improvement…we think anything is an improvement but…
First:
“The CBO’s mandate is to provide Congress with: Objective, nonpartisan, and timely analysis to aid in economic and budgetary decisions on a wide array of programs covered by the federal budget!”
Timely analysis you say?
You mean when the CBO projected 21 million people would be enrolled in the “Obama” exchanges in 2016…and only 10 million showed up. What’s 11 million people in the scheme of things?
You mean the same CBO that has projected and missed on budget deficits by the trillions?
You mean the CBO that last fall, said the annual Social Security benefit for those born in the 1960s and retiring at age 65 would replace 60 percent of their earnings for middle-income retirees. CBO now says the actual replacement amount is 41 percent. For those in the bottom 20 percent of income, CBO had said Social Security would replace 95 percent of earnings. Now CBO says it’s 60 percent. Yup…that’s the ticket!
We have no clue who is in the CBO. We have no clue whose numbers, what numbers, which numbers they use…but ya all can correct us if we are wrong…when have these people been right? We know they have a tough job but if they are so good, if they are so important, if they are such a factor, how the heck are we at $20 trillion of debt? How the heck is Social Security in a long-term bind? How the heck are we running massive deficits? How the heck do we have to raise the debt ceiling again? How the heck do we have no taxpayer dollars for infrastructure?
Just what the heck do these people do for a living? Whatever they are doing, it certainly isn’t helping the cause of the beaten up taxpayer. And now it is Trumpcare’s turn. Yippee! Can’t wait to hear!
