  1. Gary, I’ve heard this before, but your chart really SHOWS it. My sense is that this year may be a very different year, though, and we may not have the big rally into May as is expected.

  3. The Stock Trader’s Almanac brought this to my attention some year’s ago and it is my favorite seasonal trend. But the most certain trend to occur is a mass selloff whenever I go on a vacation.

  4. Everybody knows “Sell in May go away.” What’s never talked about is when to come back. Mainstream media articles always tie the sell in may go away to the vacation season of the trader’s, inferring everyone should hop back in around August or September which would get you spanked since september and october are down months.

    So “Sell in May go away, quench your thirst November 1st!”
